Path of Exile Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a common and important way to improve the performance of many items in Path of Exile. They can be a great source of extra damage, more AD or even more affixes.

Rare-grade equipment is often superior to upgraded Common or Magic equipment because of their high requirements.

Armor

Armor upgrades can be applied to both weapon and armor items. They increase the performance of the item they are connected to. Armor upgrades are found in the world of the game and can be purchased from Blacksmiths at any bonfire. They can also be salvaged by using a specialist or higher salvage kits to retrieve upgrades from the items.

The amount of damage a piece of armor or weapon is able to absorb is dependent on the degree of upgrades. The ability to absorb damage of an item upgrader of armor will increase when it's upgraded to its maximum upgrade level. However, it's important note that this will also increase its weight, which will cause it to weigh more than before.

There are a few different types of armor upgrades available in the game and they all have distinct effects. For instance, some upgrades will grant the armor a certain amount of health points while others will make it stronger and lighter. The name of the armor upgrade will indicate the kind of upgrade that an item upgrader kit will be given, as illustrated below.

Certain upgrades require magic or a combination of technology and magic, which is shown by the "Magic" and "Hybrids" entries in the table below. Additionally, some upgrades require a charge to use, which are indicated by the "Charges" entry in the table below. These charges are updated daily or never expire based on the upgrade.

Iron Ore is the cheapest method to improve your armor. It can be found by exploring and looting small treasure chests. Weapons

Weapon upgrades give players the ability to improve certain aspects of their weapon. For example an upgrade items can enhance the damage caused by shotgun shells or the accuracy of a rifle sniper. Certain firearms also have upgrades that improve their innate qualities. They include Frictionless Materials (improves stability and minimizes overheating of the weapon) and Kinetic Coils (increases the speed of projectiles to cause more damage).

The majority of upgrades for weapons require a whetblade, one of three Power Dices and a different amount of Minerals and Erons. These can be obtained by completing side quests or by killing a certain amount of monsters and bosses.

To upgrade an equipment set, weapon piece, or Whetblade, you must visit the NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine, and pay her an upgrade fee of a certain amount of Bars. The higher the upgrade level, the more bars required to complete it. The cost of upgrading will be lower if have more than one of the upgrade materials.

In Chapter 2: Season 5, the method of upgrading your weapon and equipment sets was a bit different. Most players will want to prioritize upgrades to the weapons they use most frequently to allow them to progress faster. Players should also upgrade the weapons their teammates use to boost their strength. For instance, Shepard should consider upgrading the M92F to unlock the Beretta M93R, which will enhance its effectiveness when accompanied by biotic specialists like Grunt and Tali.

Jewels

Jewels are used in the armor's sockets and weapons, enhancing the stats of a weapon and providing additional effects. Jewelry crafting is a method for creating them. You combine the gemstone with specific reagents on a jewelry table. The higher the level of the gem, the greater the secondary effect. These reagents can be gotten from Treasure Goblins and World Bosses all over the world, or through collecting Legendary Gear. You can also buy them from The Jeweler for gold and a Scattered Prism.

The quality of a gem can be improved upon by the Jeweler in stages that range from Crude to Royal. The stat boosts will vary according to the tier that the jewel is in when it's inserted into jewelry, weapons, or equipment.

All tiers of jewels are crafted at the Jeweler however, there are some exceptions to this, such as the rare and legendary jewels that require you to be at a high enough level to qualify for them. Jewels can be replaced by another jewel without damaging the original. You can only replace the jewel once within an item level upgrade of equipment.

It is common to use more gems to enhance the appearance of. In addition to enhancing performance, the diamonds create an area that is stronger than metal, so repeated friction from pivots doesn't cause damage as easily.

A Glyphmaster can provide glyphs to enhance the appearance of your weapons and shields. These glyphs offer a small boost and can be freely exchanged, however they're not guaranteed to appear as loot. Glyphs, just like jewelry, can be upgraded by the Jeweler in exchange for gold and Scattered Crystals. Glyphs can also be removed, which returns them to the inventory. Trinkets

Trinkets are pieces of equipment that bestow many tiny but valuable benefits to your hero. They are available in the starting area as loot or as personal story rewards. They are also available through vendors and after the completion of road interactions. They can be found on the Trading Post, or crafted by jewelers.

The first trinket a player can unlock is the cloak, which grants an unimportant but beneficial boost in speed of movement and evasion. After that, they'll be able to get amulets, rings, and necklaces in the same manner to the way a player acquires armor and weapons. Each piece of equipment has one upgrade slot that can accept either a universal or jewel upgrade. Universal upgrades are smaller and can be utilized on any piece of equipment. Jewels are not upgradeable or replaced and are only compatible with certain trinkets.

These trinkets can also grant buffs and skills that remain active when the hero is not in combat. This allows the hero to become more efficient even when not in combat. It can also make up for the lack of a strong slot in the talent tree or team that are normally filled by the hero's best stats.

As a general rule trinket upgrades should be prioritized over BiS (Best in Slot) items you won't replace in the near future. Next, any items with desirable stats that aren't as important as the iLevel for the item that is to be upgraded. This is especially true when you are looking to upgrade multiple stats on an item. It is more beneficial to upgrade a single important stat than two less important ones.
